Our products
Ever since we perfected a method for recycling single use plastic bottles into beautiful, soft woven textiles we’ve made it our mission to create gorgeous products that you would choose regardless of their environmental credentials.
Our washable indoor and outdoor rugs, bags, cushions, footstools and blankets are influenced by our love for Scandinavian, African and Eastern design, combining soft yellows, reds, blues, and greys with natural tones to make timeless products that look great throughout the home.
Amazing eco-friendly credentials
With over 35 billion plastic bottles finding their way into our seas each year and over 90% of all marine birds having plastic deposits in their stomachs, we felt it was important to look at creative and useful ways of turning recycled plastic bottles into beautiful additions for our homes and everyday lives.
Our range of environmentally-friendly, recycled rugs look and feel just like wool, but contain up to 3000 salvaged plastic bottles each. All of our products are made in exactly the same way meaning everything we sell has helped prevent hundreds of single use plastic bottles from ending up in the ground or floating in the ocean.
We care about people as well; that's why we only use weaving houses committed to employing skilled adults, who are paid fairly and enjoy comfortable working conditions.
How many recycled bottles go into each of our products?
Every year we recycle millions of plastic bottles, turning them into a beautiful soft yarn that's hand-loomed to create the full collection of Weaver Green textiles.
Beautiful products, practical solutions
The thing that we love best about our products is that people pick them up and fall in love with them long before they realise they are made from recycled plastic.
We’ve worked hard to create a range of textiles that are beautiful in their own right and that we want to use in our own homes, it’s just an added bonus that they are great for the planet as well.
All of our rugs and textiles have the same soft feel of wool or Jute but, thanks to being made from recycled plastic, everything we sell is machine washable, moth proof, easy to clean, mould resistant, UV stable and hard-wearing.
Incredible versatility
Being made from recycled plastic means all of our rugs, cushions, throws, footstools and storage baskets are absolutely perfect for use in kitchens, under dining tables, in bathrooms and hallways, as well as outside on garden terraces and in summer houses. You can even take our products to the beach or on a camping trip!
Perfect For Messy Homes
Keeping mucky children, cats and dogs away from nice things is an impossible task, it’s in their DNA to ruin nice things. The good news is, our entire range of washable rugs, blankets, cushions and footstools are immune to muddy paw prints, crayons and even red wine.
Whether it’s a dog-friendly rug or a Scandinavian throw, if it will fit inside your washing machine, you can wash it at home at 30 degrees. Our products emerge wonderfully clean and virtually dry (which is handy because they should never be tumble dried - think about it!). Our large rugs wash just as easily, but you’ll need the help of a commercial laundrette. The only exception are our beautiful shopper bags which can be hand washed, but the leather straps are best kept dry.
Dust mite & moth resistant
The downside of real wool products is that moths love them. Moth larvae will happily munch their way through the woolen fibres in rugs and blankets, ruining your lovely home as they go.
Fortunately, whilst all of our products have the feel and appearance of real wool, they provide no kind of sustenance to moth larvae or any other critters, making them the perfect moth resistant solution. Oh, and dust mites? They hate our products as well, which is great news for allergy sufferers and pet owners.
All in all, we think we’ve come up with the perfect combination of style, practicality and value to improve your home and help the planet all at the same time.
Responsible washing
One question we're often asked regards the potential for microfibre shedding when washing our products. We want the environmental impact of our products to be as positive as possible.
In 2018, 40% of the plastic bottles we used were retrieved from rivers and waterways which were destined for the ocean. It's important to us that the plastic we retrieve doesn't end up in the sea in any form, so we're constantly working on ways to limit microfibre shedding.
